CI05 Wedding Card In A Box

Welcome to the Colour INKspiration challenge blog hop. I’m so excited to be part of the Crew bringing you fortnightly inspiration using our beautiful colour palettes.
What is Colour INKspiration?
We are a team of Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.  Our challenges are based around a Facebook group. Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.
As a member of the group, you can join the ‘Challenge’ by uploading photos of your projects directly into the Facebook group or you can link back to your personal blog if you have one.  Join the Colour INKspiration group here. Be sure to add the group to your favourites and join us each fortnight for the teams hop and challenge. I can’t wait to see what you create!
This week's CI05 challenge is this lovely soft colour palette:
I saw a gorgeous card in a box recently by Stampin' Up! Artisan, Jessica Winter & I really wanted to give one a try. The colours in the CI05 Challenge reminded me of a spring wedding so that is where I headed with this creation.
I have to say I spent many hours trying to master the box, trying different sizes & shapes but in the end, I settled for a 10.2cm x 10.2cm x 4.4cm box.  If you have the Stampin' Up! Gift Box Punch Board then its the 4th measurement from the bottom of the list (see photo).

According to this sized box, I needed to start with a 22.9cm x 22.9cm (9" x 9") cardstock square.  Luckily for me, Stampin' Up! have the Falling In Love 12" x 12" mixed cardstock pack in the Occasions Catalogue.   I chose to use Sahara Sand as my base colour, with Blushing Bride, Vanilla & Soft Sky as my accent colours.

Here is my box:

I have used the Butterfly sheet from the Falling In Love DSP for my belly band & a label from the Cupcake & Carousels Embellishment kit.  The little flowers are embossed in gold & coloured with a blender pen.  These are from the Falling For You stamp set & the little leaves are cut out using the Stylish Stems Framelit dies.  All of these are found in the Occasions Catalogue.

When you remove the belly band the box opens to reveal a card in the box.

The card is made from 2 1/2 strips of half an A4 sheet of Vanilla cardstock scored at 10cm joined together making the final folded card 10cm x 10cm. On the first panel, I have used one of the new Vanilla coloured doilies & the So In Love stamp set, embossed in gold. I also dry embossed the back panel with the new Falling Petals embossing folder.

As you can see, each panel is decorated with a different sentiment, all heat embossed in gold. I have used both the Falling For You & the So In Love stamp sets from the Occasions Catalogue, plus the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets Delicate Details.  The hearts on the last panel come from the hostess set Iconic Occasions.

This card in a box would be perfect for a wedding gift & could easily be adapted to hold money or a gift card inside.  I really enjoyed the challenge of creating this box & I hope I have inspired you to give one of these box cards a go.

To continue on the hop click the next blog picture below to hop on over to my friend & fellow CI crew member, Simone.   I can't wait to see what she has created!

If you would like to join the challenge, just create a project using this colour palette & upload it to the facebook group using these wonderful colours. Entries close Monday, 20th March (AEDT) at 7pm.

My Stampin' Up! Tool Kit

Hi there!   I went to a team day on the weekend & had to take along some basic tools.  This got me thinking... what do I think are basic must-haves in a Stampin' Up! tool kit?  I am thinking new demonstrators or even customers coming along to class would benefit from seeing the contents I suggest are important when stamping.  Now, these are just MY must-haves.   It's important to note that everyone is different & may prefer different items.

Here is what I came up with:

As you can see I have a lot of items here in my kit.  They all fit (just) into a pencil case & most likely a large stamp case also.

I prefer to take my own chamois/water mist in case the person doesn't have a Stampin' Scrub. It also saves on baby wipes.  The cloth washes clean & is better for the environment.  I have lots of different adhesive here, however, my adhesive of choice is Tombow Glue.  I use it more than I use say the tape or the Fast Fuse, so these could be removed if you are stuck for space.

I have added a fine paint brush to my kit recently.  There are 2 reasons for this. 1) I can use it if I am heat embossing to flick off any stray powder & 2) I have my water mist so I can fill the lid & use the brush for water colouring.

So, there you have it, my stamping tool kit.  What do you keep in yours? What would you add or remove?  There is one item I have accidently left out of my kit - can you guess what it is?  It is something I use quite a bit too.   I have added it to the shopping panel below as I do believe every tool kit needs this!

You can purchase a lot of these items from Stampin' Up! so I have added the links below in case you would like to create your own Stamping Tool Kit.

CTC116 - Carousel Birthday Card

Hello & welcome back to another CASE-ing the Catty Sunday night blog hop.  This week we are CASE-ing projects from the Succulent Garden section of the Occasions Catalogue pages 20 - 31.

I have chosen to CASE the cute succulent Mother's Day card on page 20. Whilst I love the succulents & flowers used in this card, I have been itching to ink up my Carousel Birthday stamp set.  I love the whimsical old world feel of the horse but wanted to make a cute kids card, perfect for a little girl.  I no longer have a little girl, she is a teenager now, but I think she would like this too!

Here is the card I cased.

It's quite pretty, isn't it?  It's a great layout & really versatile for any type of card.

Here is my card:

CTC116 Carousel Birthday card
I am already mourning the loss of Watermelon Wonder, which will be leaving us in June to make way for some new In Colour loveliness.  It is my go to colour lately & it teams lovely with most colours.  I have used the stripe DSP from the Succulent Garden DSP & the sprinkles DSP from Tasty Treats DSP.

I wanted to make this card a bit more special so I embossed the sentiment from Avant Garden in Gold & added some gold accents along with a scattering of cute Sprinkles Embellishments from the Cool Treats Suite.

I have to say this Occasions catalogue is one of my absolute favourites & I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.  Next up is the fabulous Judy, I always love to see what she has created, especially the insides of her cards!  You can hop backwards if you would like,  just click the previous button to be directed back to Rachel.
