CTC116 - Carousel Birthday Card

Hello & welcome back to another CASE-ing the Catty Sunday night blog hop.  This week we are CASE-ing projects from the Succulent Garden section of the Occasions Catalogue pages 20 - 31.

I have chosen to CASE the cute succulent Mother's Day card on page 20. Whilst I love the succulents & flowers used in this card, I have been itching to ink up my Carousel Birthday stamp set.  I love the whimsical old world feel of the horse but wanted to make a cute kids card, perfect for a little girl.  I no longer have a little girl, she is a teenager now, but I think she would like this too!

Here is the card I cased.

It's quite pretty, isn't it?  It's a great layout & really versatile for any type of card.

Here is my card:

I am already mourning the loss of Watermelon Wonder, which will be leaving us in June to make way for some new In Colour loveliness.  It is my go to colour lately & it teams lovely with most colours.  I have used the stripe DSP from the Succulent Garden DSP & the sprinkles DSP from Tasty Treats DSP.

I wanted to make this card a bit more special so I embossed the sentiment from Avant Garden in Gold & added some gold accents along with a scattering of cute Sprinkles Embellishments from the Cool Treats Suite.

I have to say this Occasions catalogue is one of my absolute favourites & I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.  Next up is the fabulous Judy, I always love to see what she has created, especially the insides of her cards!  You can hop backwards if you would like,  just click the previous button to be directed back to Rachel.

Cool Treats Birthday Card

It's been a while since I have posted a project, so I thought I would pop in & share something I made today.   I was admiring my daughter's doona cover while it was drying on the line & thought....hmm this looks a lot like the Cool Treats stamp set!

I went inside, pulled out my stamps & coordinating framelits & whipped up this quick card in no time.

Here is the doona cover by Adairs.  I don't think they sell it anymore, but we really love the fun prints in their kids linen.

This doona cover is perfect for my daughter as she loves the soft colours & of course, she loves ice cream!

Here is my card - I tried to make it like the pillow case.

Quick Cool Treats Birthday Card

As you can see, inspiration can come from anywhere & I love to be inspired by things around me.  Where do you find inspiration for your projects?

Would you like your own bundle of Cool Treats stamps & framelits?  They are in the Occasions Catalogue on page 33 & you could earn a FREE Sale - A- Bration item simply by purchasing this bundle & the matching DSP or Washi tape!

CTC 110 Stampin' Up! Balloon Adventures Card

Happy New Year & welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  Today we are exploring & CASEing the new Occasions Catalogue pages 4-7.  I haven't stamped in ages as the holidays have been purely holidays.  I don't know about you, but when I don't regularly stamp I lose my mojo.  I just don't know where to start & nothing seems to go right.
I got out my new goodies with all these ideas in my head.  Well, I am here to tell you NONE of them worked!   Then I came back the next day & cased a card on page 6 for this blog hop.  I have to say having the catalogue to case, makes creating so much easier, particularly if you are like me & struggle after a bit of a break.

I chose to case the last card in this picture from page 6 of the Occasions 2017 Catalogue.

I am finding the Party Animal Suite particularly challenging to use at the moment.  I think it's the colours that I am struggling with, so I made myself use it for this card!

Balloon Adventures CTC110 Front
I do have the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits dies, but what I really like about this set is you can use your Balloon punch for the Balloons.  The other cool thing with this suite is the Party Animal washi tape.  There are 5 different patterns & the best part is they are all different sizes.  I really like the really skinny Tangerine Tango one so I added it to the front of my card for a bit of extra oomph.

Balloon Adventures CTC110 Inside
Inside the card, I added a bit of leftover Party Animal DSP & more washi from this suite.

So there you go, this is officially my first card of the year & it seems to sum up my excitement for this year.  Here's to another year full of CTC blog hop Adventures!

Do you ever get crafters block?

Next, you are off to Rachel at Stampin' Pals to continue the hop.  I am a bit excited to see what she has created arent you?
